About The Bio

The "bio" is the most excruciating writing exercise ever inflicted on a writer's fragile mind.  Your bio needs to be shamelessly self-congratulatory, but still somehow give the impression that someone other than the writer has written it.  Why would a writer have someone else write his or her bio?  Don't ask questions, just write the damn thing.

So, it is with great reluctance and an overwhelming sense of doom that Adam Pictures presents Adam Jackman's Bios Through The Ages.

Adam Jackman's Bio from the original Death Betty Pitch:

Writer Adam Jackman is an American Writer and Director of Theater, Film, and Fiction, and a Producer of Editorial and Advertising Photography. In November of 2012, he launched the New York offices of Bauerfeind Productions, Inc. (BPI-East), producing the covers for five Condé Nast publications within two months of opening its doors. His first paycheck as a speechwriter for a well-known human rights activist launched a fascinating career in Hollywood as a ghost-writer and script-doctor, building him a solid reputation for providing the perfect words for other people’s voices. Now working occasionally under his own name, he co- wrote R.R.R.E.D. The Secret Musical, which enjoyed critical success and sold-out runs in both New York and Los Angeles, and recently completed his first novel, Year of the Horse.

Adam Jackman's Bio from SEX + LOVE:

Adam Jackman’s work has been called “howlingly funny” by the LA Times, “hilarious“ by Variety, and “rickety” by the NY Times. As a writer, director, and producer, his credits include international campaigns for The CLIO Image Awards, Disney Parks, Banana Republic, and Target/Nate Berkus; sold-out shows at Lincoln Center, Lee Strasberg, The New York Musical Theatre Festival, and 54 Below; and covers for GQ and Vanity Fair with Jeff Bridges, Liam Neeson, LeBron James, Seth Rogen, Bill Murray, and Beyoncé. He outran Oprah in the the Chicago Marathon, and as chronicled on Bravo’s My Life on the D List, he apologized for Kathy Griffin’s behavior everywhere from the streets of Los Angeles to the Emmy Awards. He is the co-writer of R.R.R.E.D. The Secret Musical, with a cast album available on iTunes, and the co-creator of Death Betty, a comic book about love and punching that debuted this year from Castle & Key Publications.

Adam Jackman's Bio from the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) production of R.R.R.E.D. A Secret Musical

Adam Jackman (Book) retired from corporate life four years ago to build his own fictional media conglomerate, Adam Pictures. He has produced for GQ Magazine, written for civil rights pioneer Alan Isaacman & translated teleplays for Jennifer Lopez. He hopes that R.R.R.E.D. will prove to be as influential as his first collaboration with Katie & Patrick, a production of Stephen Sondheim's Assassins that included an on-stage hanging, an electric chair & actual, working handguns pointed into the audience, effectively ending their high school theatre program.

Adam Jackman's Bio from another NYMF show, for which he proudly served as Assistant Director (please note that this entry contains two lies, but is otherwise entirely factual):

Adam Jackman is delighted to be returning to NYMF with another show that's out to change the world, after NYMF hosted a sold-out run of the militantly redheaded R.R.R.E.D A Secret Musical (Book, with Katie Thompson and Patrick Livingston) in 2009. He recently moved to New York, where he has completed his first novel, Year of the Horse, set for release next year, and now works as a Playwright, Director, and Producer for commercials and editorial photography.

Adam Jackman's Bio from a charitable organization for which he served as Co-Vice Chairman of the Board (but has since resigned):

Adam Jackman brings a diverse history and passionate commitment to the cause of equal rights. He has worked as a volunteer delivering meals for Project Angel Food, fundraising for AIDS Project Los Angeles, and as a counselor and trainer for the Trevor Project, a 24-hour crisis- and suicide-prevention helpline for LGBTQ youth. In 2007, he was honored to serve as a trainer/mentor for the opening of Trevor’s New York Call Center. In Utah, he co-founded The Straight Coalition, a group that enables hundreds of first-time LGBTQ allies every year to walk in the Salt Lake City Pride Parade in shirts declaring their support for equal rights. He now works as a playwright and producer in New York City, constantly striving for ways to bring art and activism together to promote diversity, acceptance, and equality.
